The service aims to provide a holistic specialist support service to Aboriginal Children and Young People under 18 years old with a disability.
The child & family Disability Service has been designed to respond to the unmet need for Aboriginal Children and Young People with a disability living in the Mid North Coast, Taree and New England areas.
Priority of access will be given to:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People in Burrun Dalai’s programs
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People
Children and Young People
Children and Young People who reside in the geographical areas of the Mid North Coast and Hunter/New England
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support for people with a disability. It is a national scheme aimed at supporting people with a disability to achieve their goals, participate in their community and provide them with personalised flexible care and support.
What is the NDIS?
Support and information
Burrun Dalai has employed an NDIS Coordinator in response to the unmet need for the support of our children with a disability in OOHC. The NDIS Coordinator will provide support and information to our children/young people with a disability, Foster Carers and families by coordinating services, providing ongoing communications and assisting with preplanning in a Culturally appropriate and inclusive manner.
